We Are Brand Designers.Advisors.Operators.Builders.Brand Designers.Optimizers.Developers.Chefs.Bar Directors.
Built by operators, for operators.
Wits' End exists for operators and developers who have reached their own wits' end. We are a hospitality operations and advisory agency built by executives who have designed, opened, and managed multi-unit concepts from the ground up.
We are hands-on, active, and unusually fast. Our best partnerships run on trust: you tell us what you want to achieve, hand us the keys, and we get to work. We combine deep analytics, structured project planning, and award-winning talent to bring the strongest possible product to market in the least amount of time.
When something isn't working, we fix it. When the data points to a problem, we investigate and correct course. We do not guess. Every move is backed by real data and driven by a single goal: to exceed your expectations. Consider that our commitment.
In a world crowded with new technologies and AI slop, we aim to bring simple, effective clarity. We design systems and solutions that live in the background, so your team can thrive in the foreground with guests.
Four principles we don't negotiate.
Hospitality is a craft
Not a funnel, not a vertical. It's a discipline of service and passion. We treat it as such.
Data over opinions
Every recommendation is grounded in reality: labor, menu mix, ratings, guest count, social analytics, regulations, and more are all considered.
Quality drives results
Guests judge experiences on quality more than anything else. We don't cut anything that harms it, and we don't swap a product without extensive testing against the original. If a change can't beat what's already on the plate, we try until we do.
Addition by subtraction
We don't aggressively cut, but the fatty parts of the business don't go unchallenged, either.
Chris Lauber — Founder.

Chris is a double-awarded graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and a decorated hospitality veteran with deep roots across restaurant openings, turnarounds, and multiunit oversight. He has managed alongside chefs at every level, from those just earning their names to those holding three Michelin stars, spending long nights in service and longer mornings with P&Ls. That breadth earned him recognition as the "Hospitality Operator" award recipient from the NYC Hospitality Alliance and a spot on Crain's 40 Under 40, two distinctions that reflect a career built on real results.
Chris founded Wits' End after reaching his own with an industry moving too slowly on the problems that mattered most: the staggering cost to open, wages that couldn't keep up with what teams deserved, and supply costs that kept climbing. He built the firm to offer operators a smarter, more direct path forward, and later developed AI solutions for hospitality to make artificial intelligence genuinely accessible to everyday operators who don't have a tech team standing by. Today he remains the point person for nearly every engagement, because for Chris, the work has always been personal.
